《坚守阵地》电影取材于1942年夏天在黑海发生的伟大卫国战争的真实事件。1942年6月的最后几天过去了。法西斯军队冲向塞瓦斯托波尔，战斗已经在城市本身进行。黑海舰队的舰艇多次突破塞瓦斯托波尔，运送增援、弹药和武器。因此，驱逐舰“勇敢号”和“斯威夫特”收到了前往塞瓦斯托波尔的新命令。这条路线为水手们所熟知，但纳粹反复在通往塞瓦斯托波尔的唯一航道上埋设地雷，敌机不断袭击驱逐舰。
